Thermo King Eastern Canada sells services and reconditions all major brands of transport equipment to manage temperature control environments for food and other perishables. We are a fast growing company looking to add an additional, and exceptional, Service Manager to join our winning team

The Service Manager will lead the efficient and profitable operation of the Service Department by providing the highest level of customer service. They will ensure a streamlined communication process for all work orders, messages, and information to and from technicians, support staff, and customers.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Manages the overall operations of the service center department through communication processes, procedures, and people.
  • Maintain payroll, scheduling, discipline, and performance management for the employees.
  • Ensure adequate personnel, equipment, and material levels to meet maintenance, servicing and repair needs.
  • Champion company’s health and safety procedures and training.
  • Responsible for ensuring technicians certifications are updated as required.
  • Work with parts department to ensure quick turnaround of part supply for the service department.
  • Advise technicians with technical information and ensure technicians’ productivity.
  • Create and change schedules as dictated by demand and performance.
  • Continually monitor workloads throughout the department and actively pursue additional resources when justified.
  • Create initiatives and procedures that maximize organizational ability to service clients with the most efficiency possible.
  • Discuss and resolve issues with mobile technicians concerning questions, on-call status, assignments, etc.
  • Maintain an efficient process to ensure a high level of accuracy on customer invoices.
  • Monitor processes for timely customer billing.
  • Enforcement of fleet administration standards and vehicle operating policies
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have …

  • College program in logistics or equivalent business related experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Management experience with leading a team
  • Previous experience with dispatch environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Transportation Industry and temperature control equipment.
  • Proficient in understanding temperature control equipment environment.
  • Health and Safety Experience
  • Strong initiative and ability to handle a high volume of work in fast-paced challenging environment
  • Proficient in MS Office
